Además, cuenta con formación especializada en fibrilación auricular por la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela y cuenta con la acreditación europea en Electrofisiología Cardíaca Clínica Intervencionista de la Sociedad Europea de Cardiología y la EHRA.
Tras licenciarse en Medicina por la Universidad de Valencia en 2003, completó su especialización en Cirugía Cardiovascular en el Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valencia en 2010. Se incorporó a los Hospitales Universitarios del Vinalopó y Torrevieja en 2011 como especialista en cirugía cardíaca, siendo nombrado Jefe de Cirugía Cardíaca del Vinalopó en 2020. Investigador principal del ensayo ROMA sobre cirugía coronaria desde 2020, el Dr. Albors también obtuvo la acreditación del Programa de Liderazgo Quirúrgico de la Facultad de Medicina de Harvard en 2022, lo que refleja su compromiso con el avance de la atención y el liderazgo cardíacos.
Su experiencia se centra en la cirugía de arritmias, procedimientos mínimamente invasivos y el tratamiento de la insuficiencia cardíaca. Manuel es miembro del comité científico del Registro Nacional de Cirugía Cardiovascular. Manuel cuenta con un máster postdoctoral en Metodología de la Investigación y Estadística y es revisor estadístico de EJCTS e ICVTS, además de miembro del consejo editorial de Revista Española de Cardiología. Manuel cuenta con un máster postdoctoral en Gestión Clínica y es el Responsable de Calidad del Servicio de Cirugía Cardíaca del Hospital Clínico San Carlos. Manuel también cuenta con un máster postdoctoral en ecocardiografía. Manuel es miembro de EACTS y de la Sociedad Española de Cardiología, exsecretario general de la Sociedad Española de Cirugía Cardiovascular y Endovascular e investigador del Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares (CNIC).
Manuel ha sido autor de 147 manuscritos como primer autor o colaborador.
