Ignacio Muñoz Criado is a traumatologist and Medical Director of the IMSKE Hospital.
He studied Medicine at the University of Valencia, completing his residency at the Hospital Universitario del Mar in Barcelona. In 1994, he specialized in Traumatology. In 2015, he obtained his thesis from the Catholic University of Valencia. In 2015, he completed the Executive Master’s in Management of Healthcare Organizations from ESADE, at the Madrid campus. In July 2020, he began his career as a surgeon at IMSKE, where he is Medical Director, after years managing the project to build a hospital dedicated to the musculoskeletal system and establishing the first hospital of its kind in Spain.
Throughout a long career, Dr. Ignacio Muñoz has collaborated with top-level athletes , including Juan Carlos Ferrero, David Ferrer, Roberto Bautista, Marat Safin, Dinara Safina, and others. He has also served as the team doctor for the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, attending all four Grand Slam tournaments: the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
His passion for teaching led him to become a professor at the UCV. He has given numerous talks in Spain, England, and the United States. He was an organizer at the 15th Congress of the Spanish Arthroscopy Association in 1997 and the 11th World Congress of the Society for Tennis Medicine and Science in 2009.
Dr. Muñoz is a member of the Valencia Basketball team . He was also a member of the trauma team at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. He has collaborated with Dr. Cugat , Dr. Bertram Zarins, and Dr. Richard Caspari, three of the most renowned traumatologists worldwide.
